Bring on the Books Gains Local Support

Updated on 12/12/2022

The Bring on the Books program reached a milestone surpassing 1000 books donated to Yavapai County school libraries! This program was created to address the needs of our local school libraries with little to no funding. As awareness grows, so too are the donations.

The average publication date of items in Yavapai County school library collections is 1993. The most-used items have been checked out hundreds of times, while dated items sit on shelves taking up space. The Yavapai County School Librarian, Suzie Roth, helps the school library staff to weed out the worn and dated materials, making space for new resources. The Bring on the Books program enables schools to create their wish lists and have the items purchased easily online through Amazon.

Thus far, the program has received over $12,000 in Amazon book orders and $8,000 in monetary donations. Most recent support includes donations from Prescott Frontier Rotary Foundation, Greenly Stone and Tile Work, BPO Elks Prescott Lodge 330, Prescott Sunrise Lions Foundation, Miss Rodeo Arizona, a generous anonymous donation, and many more donations from community members.

Bring on the Books makes it easy for anyone to support their local school library! Visit bringonthebooks.info to purchase a book from a wish list or for more information on how you can support the campaign.
