Rosetta Stone, the free Online Language Learning Center, will end subscription services to Arizona libraries on October 31, 2008.
A couple of years ago, the Arizona State Library subscribed to Rosetta Stone on behalf of all public libraries throughout the state. Since then, Rosetta Stone decided to not offer remote access to their products through public libraries anymore. The state's contract with Rosetta Stone expires at the end of October 2008. If you are using your library's link to Rosetta Stone to work through a language-learning course, you will need to finish the program by October 31, 2008. Unfortunately, at this point, the State Library does not have a state-wide replacement for Rosetta Stone. |
